Reverse description Schematic representation of a city gate or fortified portal, rendered as a frontal architectural facade with towers and an arched entrance, a conventional mint-town symbol employed on Eichstätt episcopal coinage of the Salian period. The gate device is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the mint-name legend surrounding it along the periphery of the irregular flan. The design follows the standard German Bischofspfennig tradition of identifying the issuing city through an architectural emblem.
