Obverse description Facing crowned royal effigy depicted in a schematic, flat relief style characteristic of Ottonian-Salian coinage, the bust centered within a beaded inner circle. The ruler wears a prominent crown with raised points and is shown with simplified facial features rendered in the medieval hammered tradition. The surrounding legend is partially legible due to the irregular flan and typical die-wear of the period.
