| Obverse description | A spread eagle displayed facing left occupies the entire field, rendered in a bold, stylised medieval manner characteristic of 13th-century Low Countries hammered coinage. The wings are fully outstretched with feather detail indicated by engraved striations, and the head is turned to the left. The design fills the flan with no surrounding legend, the eagle's body and tail feathers extending nearly to the coin's irregular rim. |
