Beschrijving keerzijde	Central field displays the word MEDIOLANUM — the Latin toponym for Milan — arranged in four abbreviated lines (AVG / MED / IOLA / NIV) within a plain inner circle, referencing both the imperial title Augustus and the mint city. The inscription is enclosed by a beaded inner border and an outer ring of radiating decorative elements or pellets, a typical stylistic feature of Milanese deniers of the period. The lettering is crudely executed in an early Romanesque epigraphic style, consistent with hand-engraved dies of the early eleventh century. The flan is irregular and slightly concave, characteristic of hammered silver coinage. The reverse design reflects the standard Milanese monetary type produced under Henry II's imperial authority between 1014 and 1024.
