目录
| 正面描述 | Central cross with a pellet in each of the four angles, all enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The retrograde Latin legend HEMRICVS DVX runs around the periphery, separated by a cross at the beginning. The design is characteristic of late tenth-century Bavarian hammered coinage, executed in a bold, slightly irregular style typical of the period. |

Henry II, Duke of Bavaria — not to be confused with the later Holy Roman Emperor of the same name — issued this denier during a turbulent stretch that ended with his rebellion against Emperor Otto II and subsequent deposition in 976. The Bavarian duchy was stripped from him entirely that year, making the window for this coinage exceptionally narrow.
