Obverse description Central cross with a pellet in each of the four angles, all enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The retrograde Latin legend HEMRICVS DVX runs around the periphery, separated by a cross at the beginning. The design is characteristic of late tenth-century Bavarian hammered coinage, executed in a bold, slightly irregular style typical of the period.
