Reverse description Central field bearing a stylized monogram or letter R surmounted by a cross pattée, with a small pellet in the center, all enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The design is surrounded by a circular Latin legend in Gothic majuscules, with cross pommée stops dividing the legend. The execution is typical of feudal hammered billon deniers of southern France from the late 13th century, with characteristic die irregularities visible on the flan.
