背面描述	Central motif consisting of a plain cross pattée enclosed within a raised inner circle or annulet, dividing the field into four equal quadrants. The surrounding circular legend PAISIVS CIVITAS, written in Romanesque Latin majuscules, identifies the Paris mint. The lettering is bold and slightly irregular due to the hand-hammered technique, with individual letters showing typical Capetian die-engraving style of the eleventh century. The flan edge is scalloped and uneven, consistent with the irregular planchets of the period.
