| Beschrijving voorzijde | A potent cross occupies the central field, with its arms confined within the four quarters: a pellet appears in the 1st and 4th quarters, the Greek letter omega in the 2nd quarter, and the Greek letter alpha in the 3rd quarter. The cross and accompanying symbols are rendered in the typical Romanesque hammered style of 12th-century Champenois coinage. The peripheral legend, reading clockwise, is separated from the central device by a beaded or pearled inner circle.
