| 背面描述 | Central field displays a plain cross pattée with a large pellet in each of the four quadrants, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The cross arms are flanked by short incuse lines. A partial Latin legend surrounds the design between the inner beaded circle and the outer beaded border, with letter fragments visible though largely worn and difficult to fully transcribe. |

Henry III of Northeim, who held the county from 1083 until his death in 1101, operated within the fractured political environment of the Investiture Controversy — a period when imperial authority over the German territories was actively contested between Henry IV and the reforming papacy. Minor Saxon lords like Northeim exploited that instability to assert independent minting rights that stricter imperial oversight would never have permitted. The county itself was extinguished on Henry's death, leaving no successor coinage.
