Obverse description Facing bust of Duke Henry VII in profile to the right, rendered in crude relief typical of early medieval hammered coinage. The effigy is depicted with stylized facial features characteristic of Bavarian Romanesque die-cutting. The Latin legend HENRIC DVX arcs around the bust, identifying the issuer as Heinrich, Duke of Bavaria. The design occupies the full field of the irregular flan, with lettering unevenly distributed due to the hand-struck technique.
