Obverse description Central field features a long cross with a pellet in each angle, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The cross divides the field into four quadrants, each containing a pellet or annulet. The surrounding legend reads HEINRICVS DVX in capital letters, separated by the inner beaded border, with a further outer border of stylized triangular or wedge-shaped ornaments typical of Ottonian-era hammered coinage. The overall style is characteristic of late 10th- to early 11th-century German episcopal and ducal deniers.
