| Obverse description | Central field dominated by a cross with a small annulet at the centre, set within a beaded inner circle. The cross extends to the border, dividing the inner circle into four quadrants. A circular legend surrounds the inner circle, reading HEINRICVS DVX in debased Carolingian majuscules, partially legible due to the irregular flan and primitive hammered technique. The overall design reflects the ecclesiastical and ducal authority of Bishop Heinrich II of Eichstätt, rendered in the flat, stylised manner characteristic of late Ottonian coinage. |
