| Reverse description | A tetrastyle temple or church facade depicted in schematic architectural style, raised on two steps or degrees, rendered in the simplified Ottonian manner typical of 10th-century German ecclesiastical coinage. Within or around the temple structure appears the name of the coiner in retrograde Latin characters. A circular legend in Latin script surrounds the entire composition, identifying the mint city of Nabburg (Naabburg). The flan is irregular and the strike somewhat uneven, consistent with hand-hammered production of the period. |
