Reverse description The reverse presents a cruciform legend inscription arranged in the form of a cross, dividing the field into four quarters each containing a small triangle or wedge-shaped ornament. Each triangular segment is further adorned with three pellets or bezants arranged at its corners, creating a symmetrical decorative composition around the central cross. The legend reads + D ADVLP X +, referencing Duke Adalbero of Carinthia, co-issuing authority of this denier. The lettering is executed in the angular, rustic Latin majuscule script characteristic of Salian-period ecclesiastical hammered coinage.
