Obverse description Within an octolobed inner border, a bird facing right is depicted beneath a cross, flanked by the letter G to the left and the letter R to the right, forming the mint signature for Granollers. The design is enclosed by a beaded circle, beyond which the irregular flan edge is visible. The overall style is characteristic of late medieval Catalan hammered billon coinage, with bold but roughly executed devices typical of small-denomination issues of the period.
