Obverse description A long-stemmed cross resting on a horizontal line dominates the field, with four wedges radiating from its base. Pseudo-Kufic decorative motifs fill the surrounding field, reflecting the Oriental artistic influences common in Hungarian coinage of the mid-12th century. The overall design is characteristic of the hammered denár coinage issued during the reign of Géza II.

Reverse description A small cross with four wedges in the angles and four pellets occupies the center of the design, enclosed within a beaded or raised inner circle. No outer legend circle is present, leaving the surrounding field plain. The compact, symmetrical arrangement is typical of the Hungarian royal denár series of the 12th century.
