Aanvullende informatie

Géza II ruled during one of medieval Hungary's most externally pressured reigns — simultaneously managing Byzantine incursions under Manuel I Komnenos, entanglement in the Second Crusade's passage through his kingdom in 1147, and a prolonged dynastic struggle with his uncle Boris, who twice sought military backing from foreign powers to contest the throne. Coinage from this reign is fragmentary in the historical record precisely because the royal mint's output was subordinated to immediate political survival rather than administrative regularity.

The ÉH#56 attribution places this piece within a classification system that has been repeatedly revised as new hoards from the Carpathian Basin surface.
