Obverse description Within a beaded inner circle, the episcopal crozier of Georges de Saluces rises above a trilobe frame enclosing the coat of arms of the Saluces family, adorned with three roses. The legend, rendered in uncial characters, runs along the outer field. The overall design reflects the Gothic heraldic style typical of episcopal coinage from the Savoy region in the mid-fifteenth century.
