| Obverse description | Crowned Polish eagle displayed within an irregular oval field, the bird rendered in a schematic medieval style characteristic of early sixteenth-century hammered billon coinage. The eagle's wings are spread and the body faces forward, with the crown surmounting the head prominently indicated. The initials S I, referencing Sigismund I (Zygmunt I Stary), appear above the eagle in the upper field. No surrounding legend is present; the design fills the flan to its edges. |
