Obverse description Crowned Polish eagle displayed within an irregular oval field, the bird rendered in a schematic medieval style characteristic of early sixteenth-century hammered billon coinage. The eagle's wings are spread and the body faces forward, with the crown surmounting the head prominently indicated. The initials S I, referencing Sigismund I (Zygmunt I Stary), appear above the eagle in the upper field. No surrounding legend is present; the design fills the flan to its edges.

Reverse description Coat of arms of the city of Gdańsk (Danzig) depicted within a shield: a crown in the upper half of the shield and a double cross (patriarchal cross) in the lower half, all rendered in a bold, simplified style consistent with hammered medieval coinage. The shield occupies the majority of the flan with no surrounding legend. The design is characteristic of the Gdańsk municipal arms as used on local coinage of the Jagiellonian period.
