Obverse description Armored knight standing facing right, holding a sword diagonally across the body in the right hand and a shield in the left; a crescent device appears to the right of the figure in the field. The design is rendered in a crude medieval hammered style characteristic of early 14th-century Lorraine feudal coinage. A partial uncial legend is distributed around the periphery of the flan within a beaded border.
