Obverse description Facing crowned bust of Emperor Frederick II in high relief, depicted frontally within a raised inner circle. The emperor wears a crenellated crown and is shown holding a lily scepter in each hand, raised to either side of the bust. The facial features are stylized in the Romanesque manner, with large eyes, prominent nose, and a straight neckline. The design is contained within a beaded border encircling the entire field.
