Reverse description A rampant lion passant to the left occupies the central field, rendered in bold, high-relief Romanesque style typical of 13th-century German bracteate coinage. The lion's body is decorated with a prominent row of pellets or beads along the chest and belly, and the mane is indicated by curved lines. The tail curls upward and over the back. The figure is contained within the broad, plain circular flan with no surrounding legend or additional devices. The workmanship reflects the robust artistic conventions of the Nuremberg imperial mint under the Hohenstaufen dynasty.
