Obverse description Facing bust of Emperor Frederick II rendered in crude high relief, depicted wearing an imperial crown with prominent central finial and lateral pendilia. The face is shown frontally with stylized features including a prominent nose, wide-set eyes, and a schematic beard, characteristic of Hohenstaufen-era bracteate-influenced pfennig coinage. The bust is presented within the coin field without a formal border, the irregular flan edge framing the design naturally. The legend FRIDERICVS IMP runs around the periphery, identifying the issuer as Emperor Frederick. The overall style reflects the provincial workshop character of the Annweiler imperial mint.
