| 裏面の説明 | Within a beaded inner circle, a large ornate Gothic capital letter A occupies the central field, its form stylized in the manner characteristic of 14th-century Savoyard coinage. Four five-pointed stars are disposed in the angles formed by the letter, filling the inner circle. A circular legend in uncial Latin characters runs between the inner and outer beaded borders. |

Edward of Savoy, known as "il Liberale," issued this denier during a reign defined by chronic financial strain and territorial skirmishing along the Alpine passes. The "forte" denomination was a deliberate statement of monetary ambition — a heavier, more credible silver issue meant to assert Savoyard commercial authority against competing coinages circulating in the Piedmontese and Burgundian markets simultaneously pressing on the county's borders.
Edward died in 1329 without legitimate male issue, ending his direct line and triggering the succession of Aimone, his brother. The six-year window of this type's production is correspondingly tight.
