| Reverse description | Central device consisting of a triskelion or interlaced omega-form motif composed of three interlocking curved elements, each terminating in a pellet, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. This ornamental design is characteristic of Narbonnais feudal deniers of the period. The marginal legend NARBONE CIVI, identifying the City of Narbonne as the place of issue, runs around the periphery, divided by the arms of a cross visible in the outer zone. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, consistent with hand-hammered medieval technique. |
