| Obverse description | Within a beaded inner circle, a stylized architectural structure depicted as a crenellated tower or gatehouse occupies the upper field, flanked on each side by a six-pointed star. Below the architecture, two facing helmeted heads are rendered in a schematic, Romanesque style, their visored faces confronted and partially overlapping at center, recalling the heraldic imagery associated with the Archbishopric of Salzburg. The overall composition is enclosed within a broad, flat rim characteristic of early 13th-century Austrian bracteate-influenced pfennig coinage. No legend is present. |
