Reverse description Half-length facing effigy of a bishop in full pontifical vestments, including mitre or episcopal crown, holding a closed book (Bible or Gospel) in the left hand and a crozier in the right; two stars flank the head in the upper field. The design is characteristic of Regensburg episcopal bracteate-influenced deniers of the early 13th century, executed in a schematic Romanesque style.
