| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse displays the mint name LVCA arranged in two lines around a central pellet, occupying the inner field in large, bold lettering. This central device is encircled by a Latin legend naming the emperor Conrad, the whole composition being typical of the Carolingian-derived denier format as perpetuated at the Lucca mint during the Salian period. The lettering is deeply struck but irregular, consistent with the variable alignment and hand-hammered production technique. |
