| Beschrijving keerzijde | A stylized temple or church facade depicted with four columns supporting a gabled roof, rendered in the flat, schematic manner typical of Carolingian-derived denier coinage. At the center of the temple, within the colonnade, appears an annulet enclosing a central pellet, a motif commonly associated with Regensburg civic and ecclesiastical identity. The surrounding Latin legend + REGINA CIVITAS (Regensburg) is positioned between the inner architectural design and the outer edge of the flan. The overall composition follows the established Carolingian church-type reverse design, adapted for East Frankish royal coinage of the early tenth century. |
