Reverse description Central field depicts a hand emerging from below and grasping a long staff or banner pole, with a pennant or flag at its top, all contained within a plain inner circle. This motif of a hand holding a standard is a common symbol of ducal authority on Moravian deniers of the late 11th century. The surrounding legend DVS CONRAT is distributed in large, somewhat irregular Latin capitals around the outer field. The coin's edge is bordered by a characteristic serrated or toothed rim produced by the hammering technique. The design, though schematic, is consistent with the Romanesque engraving style of the Brno mint under Conrad I.
