Reverse description A bold anchored cross occupies the central field, rendered in the schematic, heavily stylized manner typical of Merovingian hammered coinage. The cross arms extend toward the coin's edge, with decorative elements anchoring the terminals. The surrounding legend reads AV [DI] LINGO, likely referencing the mint place of Audilingo (modern Ohlingen or a related Alsatian locality). The die work is crude and irregular, consistent with provincial Frankish minting practice of the late 7th to early 8th century.
