Obverse description Central shield displaying the combined Hungarian royal arms: the dexter half bearing the Árpád dynastic fess barry (horizontal stripes), and the sinister half charged with the Angevin fleurs-de-lis, all enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The heraldic shield is rendered in the Gothic style characteristic of Angevin Hungary. The circumscribed legend in Latin runs around the periphery between the beaded circle and the coin's irregular rim.

Reverse description A patriarchal (double-barred) cross occupies the field, its arms dividing the design into four quarters. At the base of the cross, two crowned facing heads are depicted flanking the stem. Birds are placed in the middle quarters flanking the upright of the cross, while a crescent with a central dot and a star appear in the upper quarters. The entire design is set within a beaded inner circle, with the whole composition executed in the hammered style typical of medieval Hungarian deniers.
