Reverse description Central field features a bold monogram cross composed of interlaced letters forming the Karolus monogram, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The annular zone between the inner circle and the outer border displays letters of the mint name interspersed with small crescent and star ornaments, consistent with the Carolingian denier type struck at Toulouse. The outer rim presents an irregular raised edge characteristic of hammered production. The circumferential legend reads TOLOSA, identifying the mint city of Toulouse in Roman form.
