Obverse lettering KAROLUS DUX LOTHO
(Translation: Charles, Duke of Lorraine.)
Reverse description Central field depicts an upright sword flanked on each side by a holly leaf, all contained within a beaded inner circle. The sword, with its crossguard clearly visible, is a symbol associated with the lordship of Sierck. The two holly leaves flank the blade symmetrically, a distinctive type-marker for this mint. A circular Latin legend surrounding the beaded border reads MONETA IN SIERK, denoting this as the coin of Sierck-les-Bains.
