| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central field features a plain cross pattée within a raised linear inner circle, with four pellets placed one in each angle of the cross, a design characteristic of Carolingian deniers of this period. The surrounding legend, disposed in Carolingian uncial capitals around the circumference between the inner circle and the coin's rim, identifies the issuing authority of Saint Martin of Tours. The flan is irregularly shaped, as is consistent with hammered coinage of the ninth century, and the strike is moderately well centred. |
