Reverse description Central field displays a plain Greek cross with arms extending to the beaded inner circle, dividing the central area into four equal quarters. The cross is boldly struck in high relief and enclosed within a beaded circle. The surrounding outer legend, introduced by a cross pattée, reads SCI DIONVSII M, referencing the monastery of Saint Dionysius (Saint-Denis), the prestigious royal abbey near Paris. The inscription is rendered in Carolingian majuscules and occupies the full annular field between the beaded inner circle and the coin's irregular hammered rim.
