| Beschrijving keerzijde | A plain Latin cross occupies the central field, with two pellets (dots) placed in diagonally opposite angles of the cross, a characteristic decorative feature of Carolingian deniers struck at the Cassel mint. The cross is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the mint legend distributed around the outer border of the flan. The design is typical of the standardised reverse type mandated under Charles II, identifying both the place of issue and the monetary authority. |
