| Descrizione del rovescio | A stylised temple or church facade occupies the central field, depicted in a schematic architectural style with a triangular pediment surmounting a columned portico and a stepped base, all rendered in the flat, linear manner characteristic of Carolingian deniers. A small cross or crosslet appears above the pediment. The surrounding circular legend is inscribed in Carolingian capitals separated by stops, running within a linear border that frames the entire reverse design. The die engraving is firm and regular, identifying this as a product of the Bourges (Bituriges) mint. The combination of the temple motif with the mint name follows the established Carolingian monetary convention for this series. |
