Reverse description A stylized Piast eagle displayed in the central field, rendered in a loose, sketchy die-engraving style typical of hammered Polish medieval deniers. The eagle, emblem of the Piast dynasty and Kingdom of Poland, occupies most of the flan with wings spread. The strike is irregular and slightly off-center, as is characteristic of fourteenth-century Kraków mint production. No legible surrounding legend is present on this type.
