Obverse description Crowned figure of the king seated on a throne in a stylized, crudely rendered design typical of medieval Polish hammered coinage. The enthroned effigy is depicted facing, holding the royal regalia, with the crown rendered schematically above the head. The surrounding field bears a partial Latin legend. The overall style is characteristic of the primitive die-cutting technique employed at the Kraków mint during the reign of Casimir III the Great.
