Reverse description The reverse field displays the Polish royal eagle in a highly schematic, stylized rendition consistent with mid-14th century hammered denier production. The eagle motif, a traditional heraldic symbol of the Piast dynasty, is rendered in low relief with crude but recognizable form. A partial Latin circumscription surrounds the central device within a beaded or wavy border formed by the irregular flan edge. The die workmanship reflects the provincial engraving standards of the Kraków mint under Casimir III.
