Casimir I of Kuyavia ruled a fragmented Piast duchy during the period of Polish provincial disintegration following the 1138 Testament of Bolesław III, which partitioned Poland among his sons and deliberately prohibited reunification. Inowrocław functioned as one of the region's principal administrative centers, and coinage struck there reflects the localized monetary authority that proliferated across the divided Piast lands throughout the thirteenth century.
Kop#6423 is among the thinner-documented entries in Kopicki's corpus, with attribution resting primarily on provenance and die analysis rather than documentary mint records.
