| Beschrijving keerzijde | Frontal bust of Saint Wenceslaus, patron saint of Bohemia, depicted in a hieratic Romanesque style within a beaded or linear border. The saint is shown with schematic facial features, wearing episcopal or princely vestments, and holding an attribute such as a lance or shield, consistent with his iconographic tradition on Bohemian deniers. The surrounding legend SCS VENCESLAVS, in crude Latin lettering, identifies the figure and runs along the periphery of the irregular flan. The reverse design reflects the strong devotional character of early Přemyslid coinage, invoking the dynastic patron saint. |
