| 正面描述 | Half-length frontal effigy of Archbishop Wilbrand of Käfernburg, vested in episcopal robes and wearing a mitra, holding a crozier in his right hand and a scepter in his left, set within a pointed quatrefoil frame. The architectural quatrefoil is rendered with lobed cusping and projects outward into the surrounding field, creating a characteristic bracteate relief. The composition is centrally placed within the broadly struck, thin silver flan with an irregular raised rim typical of mid-13th-century German ecclesiastical bracteates. |

Wilbrand of Käfernburg's tenure as Archbishop of Magdeburg coincided with intense friction between the archbishopric and the Ascanian margraves over territorial control east of the Elbe — a struggle that made the independent coinage rights of Magdeburg a matter of political consequence, not mere economic administration. Bracteates from this region and period were struck on exceptionally thin flans, a technique that allowed the Magdeburg mint to stretch silver supplies while maintaining acceptable face value in local exchange.
The Berger references distinguish at least two die varieties for this type.
