| Obverse description | Half-length frontal effigy of Saint Maurice, nimbed and draped, rising above a stylized arch with a domed tower at centre base. The saint holds a palm branch in his right hand and a vexillum (banner-topped lance) in his left. Small crosses flank the figure to either side, with a lily motif visible to the far right of the field. The circular legend, rendered in Romanesque lettering, reads SCS • MAVRICIVS - DVX, distributed around the periphery of the flan. |
