The entire central design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, itself surrounded by an outer border of large raised pellets distributed evenly around the coin's circumference. The thin hammered flan exhibits the characteristic convex relief on the obverse and corresponding incuse impression on the reverse, typical of thirteenth-century German bracteate coinage. |
