| Beschrijving voorzijde | A stylized castle or palace facade occupies the central field, featuring two rounded arches beneath which appear the facing busts of Count Walter II and his consort Ermengard in low relief. Above the architectural structure, a spread eagle with wings raised is depicted in profile, serving as a heraldic emblem of comital authority. The building is rendered with flanking towers or columns and a decorative frieze, conveying a Romanesque architectural style characteristic of 12th-century German bracteate coinage. The entire design is enclosed within two concentric beaded circles forming the border. |
