Obverse description Facing crowned head in high relief at center, rendered in the characteristic schematic style of 13th-century South German bracteate coinage. The crown is adorned with pellets and fleurs, surmounting a broad, stylized face with summarily indicated facial features. The shoulders are suggested by a curved collar or neckline embellished with pellets. The central device is enclosed within a plain inner circle, surrounded by a wide border of large raised pellets arranged in a continuous ring along the outer rim.
